I like this one the best out of your last submitted paintings. The sky has to be my favorite part. Great peace of work.

"The windows are frost-blind...all I see on these December mornings is the windowpanes' world: needle crystals and blue frost ferns, delicate as wing-tips brushed on snow." ~Beth Powning

A hushed, halcyon scene.

lol bob ross is the man, and the composition is much like one of his but the style makes it all yours.

of course not! he is a great way to learn to paint landscapes though... he taught me that shrubberys, trees, and clouds should always be happy and to "no be afraid of whacking my brush" lol

hey, I meant to comment this one at school, but I never got the chance to talk to you. It looks amazing! It's so serene, and I love the blending of the cool tones...it's just...wow. And oh my gosh I LOVE the sky!! The different colours are blended in such a way that it takes my breath away. It seems almost innocent, and untouched...if that makes any sense. At any rate, LOVE IT .

Just kidding... thanks for the kind words. It's kind of funny because this is the second time that I've been really discouraged with my work and then gotten a really good response to a new piece. Makes me think I'm on the right track ;)

No way your free expressionist swirls would ever be likened to Bob's happy little clouds, unless Bob was feeling especially effusive and possibly drunk (please understand I mean that as a compliment and I honestly like Bob Ross!)

I am curious as heck as to what you're going to do with high realism - look forward to seeing it.

Oh, I definitely agree about the style... it's nothing like Bob Ross's style. I just meant that the composition is especially Bob Ross like... but then again, I learned how to paint landscapes by watching him when I was a kid... so that could be why ;)

I'm really excited about the high realism... it's definitely going to be a challenge, but I feel like it's going to be a defining moment that could be the catalyst for my professional art career.

Thanks :) I normally hate Bob Ross paintings... unless they're done by Bob Ross... if that makes sense :p Anyway, I think it's just the composition that looks like a Bob Ross painting ;) Thanks again.

Yeah, it is a shame. I started learning to paint landscapes about the same time he died, but I didn't know it until years later.

I think this is beautiful. It is a bit too Bob Ross, as you said, but it's still a great painting. I really enjoy the colour choices.
The whole image reminds me of my parents house. :)

Thanks :) I really didn't intend it to end up like a Bob Ross painting, but I first learned how to paint landscapes by watching him when I was a kid, so maybe it just subconsciously came out. Anyway... thanks for the comments :)
