I have nothing to add to this picture, other than I love her "two sides". One is blue/purple/dark/cold and the other is green/orange/warm. It's really cool! I like her expression, it reminds me of Mona Lisa. I love the strokes. Very effect-full (sp?)! Very beauiful and completely deserving of a DD!
I've featured this creation in my May 2007 Visual Art Feature.

The internet is a great way to have a lot of people see your work, but it's never the same as seeing it in person. I really want to have my work in a gallery some day so people can see the real thing.
Thanks As soon as I found out I got a DD I thought of you and Mikki and that time we were talking about getting a DD in class. I know how you feel though... I've always looked at other people's work and wished I could paint like that... I still do. But the thing I've really figured out is that you have to do your own thing. Find something you love doing and just keep working at it and working at it. See you Tuesday! (I have a field trip tomorrow)
haha XD yeah .. that's what I thought of too when I saw the thing you said on facebook. I was like 'yay! he got a DD, just like he wanted!'
I just don't really practice .. that's why I love art class, because I'm forced to do something that I actually really like, but never do in my free time .. And I usually really hate drawing or painting when people are around .. which is why I usually have my ipod to shut people out .. it always feels like I'm being watched, even when I'm not at all ..
And I'm so mad >< I have a Chem field trip tuesday, so I miss art again. I was mad that I missed it friday for a bio trip, but it's retarded that I have to miss it again.
Well that's no fun! Chem is overrated!
I used to find it tough to find the time to paint, but I have a really sweet setup at my place now. I have a studio set up in my basement with my tv, computer, and gym down there... so it's just a really nice place to hang out. I can paint for an hour, then take a break and do something else. It's definitely the reason I've been able to finish so many paintings in the last while... that and the fact that I'm determined to be a professional painter. But don't worry, I'm not going to give up teaching art
I know! Chem is dumb ...
That sounds amazing .. I would basically never leave my basement if I had everything down here .. I only have my computer and tv.. ... When I move out, I'm definitely looking for a 1 level place so I can have everything relatively close to each other. I don't like basements because there isn't enough sunlight, and I don't like having a bazillion (which obviously means three) floors, because that ups my chances of falling down (or up) stairs, and everything gets spread out and it's annoying I'd just need a lot of room to prevent walking into walls/doors/other things ...
I shouldn't be writing things after being up for 13 hours straight with only 5 hours of sleep ..
But, I think you could definitely be a professional painter .. that would be so amazing for you and the only reason I want to stay for the entire day of school every other day is so I can go to art .. I actually have a lot of fun in your classes
